It’s all about the punch-line

“Somebody’s at the door, Love. Can you get it?”

“I didn’t hear anything.”

“Bloody Alexa just shouted all round the house. ‘There is someone at the front door’, she said. How could you not have heard it?”

“Well, I didn’t. Anyway, what’s stopping you going, you lazy old so-and-so?”

“Did you hear it then? It just did it again.”

“Go and take a look out of the front window.”

“What for?”

“You’ll be able to see if there’s anyone there.”

“Not if they’re stood right by the door.”

“Take a look anyway.”

“Can’t see anyone.”

“Hang on. I’ll bring up the app on my phone.”

“What’s it say?”

“Hang on a minute – it hasn’t come… okay. Nobody there.”

“So why’s it just gone off again?”

“Did on my phone, too. One of us had best go take a look. Maybe someone left a parcel.”

“No vehicle stopped outside, though.”

“I suppose you want me to go and look.”

“I can’t, I’ve got an excuse.”

“What is it?”

“Gimme time to think of one and I’ll let you know.”

“Alright. I’ll go. Anything to keep the peace.”

“Thanks, Love.”

“Ahhh. Bless.”

“Who is it?”

“It’s our long-lost sun!”

Okay – it wasn’t really worth waiting for, but what did you expect from a picture like that?
