Some time ago, I was looking at acrostic poems of which many examples exist. However, try as I may, I found very few examples of acrostic Limericks.
That is something we need to address, isn’t it?
And so I have started to look out for prompts that contain a multiple of five letters (my preferred multiple is one).
This week, I found a few five-letter prompts, all at Tales from the mind of Kristian and thought I’d give them a go.
Let me know what you think.
USUAL
Unless I am badly mistaken
Some drinks should be stirred, never shaken
Unexpectedly, though
Another says ‘no’
Let me tell you, he knows, he’s Jamaican.
RIVER
Richard is such a nice bloke
I don’t think he knows a bad joke
Very fine fellow
Ever so mellow
Regardless, he is a bit woke.
VISTA
Vacations are out for this summer
I personally think that’s a bummer
Staying right here
Till the end of the year
Assures that I’ll only get glummer
Anyone care to join me?
your work is interesting. enjoyed reading it

Like Derrick, I think I’ll just sit back and enjoy yours. Well, maybe not.
Some like to take a big chance
All in for a big bust or a dance
From where I sit
They can have it
You need a lung for romance

And acrostic, if you allow a silent “e” in safety 😉
